Activities

A multitude of activities and attractions for all to enjoy!

Local to Pineapple House you can enjoy the beautiful beach at Cuil Bay with its atmospheric setting overlooking Loch Linnhe and the Morvern Hills. Deer, otters and many species of bird are found in the area along with the mountain bothy and birthplace of the infamous 'James of the Glen' hanged in 1752 for the Appin murder he did not commit. A delightful trip out is a visit to Port Appin with its photogenic views of Castle Stalker en route.

Between Fort William, ‘the Outdoor Capital of the UK’, and Oban with its picturesque harbour and access to the islands, there are a wide range of activities to suit everyone from Munro mountain walking to gentle strolls through empty glens, boat hire, riding, fishing, cycling, golf, even snowsports in season, and of course whisky sampling. Eight miles away is the stunning valley of Glen Coe with its abundant hill walking and the National Trust Scotland visitor centre telling the story of the infamous 1692 Massacre of the Macdonalds as well as the history of the extraordinary geology of the area.

Other outdoor related activities in and around Lochaber include visits to the Kinlochleven mountaineering activity centre, and the beautiful Glen Nevis with its Visitor Centre telling you all about the UK’s highest mountain Ben Nevis. If you don’t fancy the strenuous walk up ‘the Ben’ you can always enjoy the views from the Nevis Range mountain gondola.
